Diana Taurasi FTW

Some lady wrote a piece about how she doesnt like the WNBA; D read it; D replied, lovely… heres a little:

Will many think the NBA is more entertaining? Of course. How that means the WNBA is NOT entertaining is beyond me. That’s what is disappointing, that when it comes to the WNBA, some people, even women such as Ms. Rohlin, (who can probably see Russia from her porch) still can only regard our league as the NBA’s kid sister. Where was the NBA in its 12th season? Furthermore, the idea that if it isn’t the MOST watched or MOST marketed that it isn’t worthy is unfairly applied to women’s sports. Such a rationale belies not only an ingrained sexism, but ignorance over the fact that NBA versus the WNBA doesn’t have to be an either/or conundrum: we have different seasons.

You can’t compare the two. WNBA has women players. The NBA has men players. It’s sexist for men to say the WNBA sucks. Of course they would say that because their men. Men will never watch the WNBA as much as the NBA and other sports. The WNBA will only be successful toward women viewers. Will the WNBA ever be as successful as the NBA? No because most women don’t usually play or watch sports. It’s really more of a male thing. But I do follow the WNBA as I am a guy. I think its great. And Diana Taurasi and Lisa Leslie could be beat any guy in basketball. 🙂

It’s also unfair because the WNBA used to play in a college format time. Basically two quarters and not four quarters. Also the WNBA has to play in the summer and not during the year because other sports are on. Also the WNBA has to have only 3 playoff games compared to the NBA’s 7.
