So I like where Live Nation is going with this, follow my logic… Sign Huge acts to total package deals and then have them tour in your buildings and make all the money back with shows and live recordings.
I figure all this because Jay Z is going to open up the renovated Hollywood Palladium in September. Originally the place was opened by Frank Sinatra, and the renovated building will be opened by Jig. I Love it! LA shows are always good, because you can get mad guest appearances… Everyone lives in LA! I can see a lot of really big shows here soon, given the roster that Live Nation is putting together.
…or a producer, or hip hopper, or whatever we they’re calling themselves these days. Forbes compiled it annual list of the biggest earners, or Kash Kings and they call it, and its a pretty impressive list. No real newcomers this years, but its a who’s who of the rap game. Fif, JAy, ‘Ye, Dre, Em, Pharrell and the other usuals… Its crazy to think that when I was a shorty my pops would tell me that its just temporary and no one will be listening to rap music 20 years from now… well its 15 years a few years later and “rap” music is selling everything from Kotex to Crunk. From television and movies, to computers and iphones to everything sports related, the urban music scene is up and down Madison Avenue. Trend setters, moguls of all mediums, and even philanthropy and political activism, i love it!
a little more fun too! the hip hop homes for sale, you know if you have a loose $6-15m hanging around in your couch!
Jig is almost starting to get on my nerves!!! The report is that he is about to sell half of 40/40 to the Las Vegas Sands Corp for $44m. They want to make it the biggest sports book in LV. I like it… if Jay isn’t careful he is about to start treading on that Bing Crosby territory, if you dont know, check it out, dude had dough.
Yeop, a recession is on the way, and The Recession is on the way… here is the “Official Remix” for Put On, Young Jeezy ft. Jay. Its hot, peeps out Jay letting everyone know what is up, and listen for the thinly veiled LeBron reference… But its true, once Bron is in NY, what can you say about Jay Z?
Usher’s new record is going to be crazy! We have already heard like 5 tracks and all of them are bangers! It may not be a Confessions, but it is a solid R&B record that we need. Here is the latest courtesy of Bossip, The Best Thing, featuring Jigga, produced by JD and No ID. It’s gotta be a hit right, well it is. Next Tuesday needs to herry up.
It’s not LeBron is really having a problem with The Bullets and DeShawn but Hov hooked his boy up with a nice freestyle letting DS know how you have your rapper friends represent. While he flew Souljah Boy in and had him wearing a jersey like a fan, Jay dropped bars. Listen Up courtesy of realtalkny.com, the shit is hot
One of my sayings in this world has always been, “It must’ve been nice being Frank Sinatra.” Well, i think i am almost to the point where i can change that saying to, “It must be nice to be Jay Z.” On the heels of the marriage license news getting out, word around the campfire is that there is another major collabo on the horizon for Hov. Live Nation, who has broken off mega stars with major chips recently, is looking to CTC for Jay Z. In a deal similar to what was given to Madonna and U2, Live Nation will partner with Jigga and will have a stake in every aspect of his career. In addition to a reported $25m upfront signing bonus, Jay will receive an advance of $10m per record for a minimum of three albums, as well as Live Nation also expected to commit $50 million to finance Jay-Z’s investments and his entertainment venture, to be called Roc Nation. Roc Nation will most likely include his own record label, music publishing, talent consulting and managing projects. It’s over for these cats that want to hate on Jay, I can’t even listen to these mad rappers anymore, no… seriously, Jay Z won
