Ummm, I guess Shaq hasn’t quite let this thing go! Shaq needs to stopped rapping but he definitely shouldn’t stop talking. Here’s a freestyle he dropped the other day where he hit up a couple of things. How he is the greatest still, how much money he has, and ummmm how Kobe is the reason he is divorced!
How the hells does TMZ get all this stuff? I really dont care, I love it.
I haven’t posted anything else today because I cant think of anything else. Tonight is a big game, and a preview of something we will definitely see in the playoffs. The west is tight like gnat booty and I can’t wait to see them duke it out down the stretch and all throughout the postseason. This will be one year where no one will be complaining about first round series going 7 games. Here is a link to the espn.com preview of the game. If the Lakes win tonight they will be in a tie atop the pacific division. Its between these two teams and San Antone for who comes out of the west this year to take on Detroit. I say tonight will start out like most Laker games in Phoenix; the suns will get out to a large lead, the Lakers will crawl back into it toward half time, and then start out the third well. It’ll be a close game throughout the second half and it’ll come down to the last 4 or 5 minutes. But here is the thing, the Lakes are without their starting center, and this is Shaqs’ first game as a sun, this game is absolutely meaningless, but it’ll means so much. I can’t wait! Lets hope Shaq can still play, because that means we will be seeing a lot of Lakers and Suns games on ABC and TNT in the foreseeable future
NBA All Star weekend was great! Everything went pretty much spot on, and the Game lived up to being one of the best ever after some early game sloppiness. I was happy that KB24 got only a little bit of burn and got on up out of there. NOLA looks like things are progressing some and things are looking up. Ironically looking at the entire weekend, I am feeling okay about making a trip down there because things are pretty much getting back to normal. there is still a ton of work that needs to be done, still a lot of healing necessary but the city is looking good again and the community is responding. Check out Simmons today, a great article for which I feel the exact same way. So much so that I think I am going to spend my birthday down there this year, forget about Miami.
espn the mag article with MJ as told to Ric Bucher, Mike gives a little bit of perspective on these young cats, and the state of the game and how it is in good hands, as long as these guys stay original and try not to become MJ or MAgic or Larry.
another espn the mag article with the best commissioner in sports today, the great David Stern. Say what you want about the guy but he has taken a sport choc full of brotha’s and made it in to arguably the second leading sport worldwide to futbol.
ok, one more espn the mag article about a problem particular still facing the league which is a major one, that its a league full of black players playing largely to a corporate read white audience, and how the perception, the perception is that basically all nba guys are rappers at heart who just happen to be able to hoop. its an interesting situation and one that needs to be explored and then explored some more.
The only problem I had was the Dwight Howard dunk, or throw in… It wasn’t even a dunk, and they turned the lights out so no-one could see that he didn’t dunk what was that about? Also, how does Shaq feel that DH just jacked his jacked nickname? Shaq even has a tattoo. And he should have lost because he had a superman onesie on.Dwight should have done the kiss the rim dunk right here.. . Its at the 30s mark.
So Kobe has a torn ligament in his right hand suffered back on February 5th against the Nets. He took another examination from a hand specialist who recommended surgery. What! Dammit, not another Laker going down to injury, but Kobe sees the same thing that we all see, he is hoping the same thing I am hoping,
Said Bryant: “My current thinking is to give my finger some treatment and rest for a few days and hope I can still continue to compete at a high level after that rest. I would prefer to delay any surgical procedure until after our Lakers season, and this summer’s Olympic Games. But this is an injury that myself and the Lakers’ medical staff will just have to continue to monitor on a day-to-day basis.”
But the Association isn’t trying to give him the time off, they have replace him in the 3 point shoot out with the Diggler, but he still has to play in the game. They don’t give injury exceptions, especially when you play in the game leading up to the all star break and are planning on playing in the game right after the break. I think we will be good though, Kobe has played with a bum shoulder, a bum knee, he should be alright. Lets just hope that this doesn’t get any worse. Because even though with surgery he would only be out six weeks, we know that with the squad they have now, and with Shaq back in the west, with the Mavs trying to get something started, with the Hornets playing well, and the Spurs the Spurs, the west is going to be fun!
Shaq plays for the Phoenix Suns. He shot out to the valley of the sun this morning and “passed” his physical. I still don’t know about this one. Apparently Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire were the two pushing for this deal and they spoke with Shaq who told them he wouldn’t let them down. We’ll see, i just can’t imagine Shaq running with them, he can’t keep up with D Wade and Ricky, how will he keep up with the Suns. This is an obvious reaction move by the Suns because they only have a year or two left of a legit shot at getting a ‘chip and with the moves the Lakers made last week, they needed to do something. They could barely beat a banged up Laker team as it is, and when the playoffs start, I think Shaq works. the Suns will have at least Shed that soft label with the addition of the big fella. Now Ayson Kidd is just about guaranteed to be traded soon. We shall see. This NBA season is unbelievable, I am so happy I bought a new TV!
One of Forbes annuals list is the valuation of the top earning black celebrities. O dot has the number one spot because between June 2006 and June 2007, Winfrey, 54, pocketed $260 million. That astonishing salary–it works out to some $712,000 a day–crowns her not just the nation’s top-earning African-American, but also the highest-paid entertainer in Tinseltown, black or white. Check out the top ten list right herre…
1. Oprah Winfrey $260 million
2. Tiger Woods $100 million
3. Jay-Z $83 million
4. 50 Cent $33 million
5. Kobe Bryant $33 million
6. Shaquille O’Neal $32 million
7. Michael Jordan $31 million
8. Will Smith $31 million
9. Beyonce $27 million
10. LeBron James $27 million
I don’t know if I necessarily can believe this list allt he way, because Magic Johnson should be somewhere in here. Plus, didn’t fiddy make like $100 off of that vitamin water deal. I think that came after the cut off date, so next year will probably look very different. One thing that will remain the same though, Oprah at number 1
Shaq on the Suns? That’s the rumor out there, even to the point that they say he was calling his new teammates saying how excited he is about the possibly to play with D’Antoni and the boys. Woooow. For all of you keeping tabs, this will be Shaq’s fourth team. There are rumors of a deteriorating relationship with coach Riley. Hmmmm. First it was Penny, then Kobe, then Phil and Buss, then he ran SVG out of Miami, and now Riles. I love it! This seems like a panic move to me by Phoenix as a result of the Gasol trade. But as history shows a motivated Shaq is something, but uh yeah… I don’t think that his game messes that well with the Suns. We will see i guess. This is a great move by Miami though, they get the Matrix and they get Shaq’s money off the books. Now it looks like $50m for 2.5 years and they got a chip out of it, not so bad actually… Now they have a ton of money next year to resign trix and get another piece. This isn’t official yet, but they say that all Phoenix has to do is say yes.
