Life is GOOD for Jay Z

One of my sayings in this world has always been, “It must’ve been nice being Frank Sinatra.” Well, i think i am almost to the point where i can change that saying to, “It must be nice to be Jay Z.” On the heels of the marriage license news getting out, word around the campfire is that there is another major collabo on the horizon for Hov. Live Nation, who has broken off mega stars with major chips recently, is looking to CTC for Jay Z. In a deal similar to what was given to Madonna and U2, Live Nation will partner with Jigga and will have a stake in every aspect of his career. In addition to a reported $25m upfront signing bonus, Jay will receive an advance of $10m per record for a minimum of three albums, as well as Live Nation also expected to commit $50 million to finance Jay-Z’s investments and his entertainment venture, to be called Roc Nation. Roc Nation will most likely include his own record label, music publishing, talent consulting and managing projects. It has taken them long enough, but now, yes NOW, OK well maybe in May, but the 8330 is here for Verizon Wireless. I held out, but now i don’t even know if i want the effing phone anymore. This Movie Will Not Suck

It is being reported that the actor formerly known as Marky Mark and The best young actor in Hollywood will be doing a major motion picture remake of the 2006 documentary Cocaine Cowboys. Trust me when I tell you that this movie will kick ass! The documentary is unbelievable, and once these two get on set it will bring the story to a whole new level.  Obviously it wont tell the story like the documentary will but apparently focuses on Jon Roberts, played by Mark Wahlberg, who is known as the biggest cocaine trafficker in Miami throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Di Capri will be playing the part of his associate who flies to Columbia to meet up with Pablo Escobar. Can’t Wait

Peace Out to Neverland Ranch. It’s looking like the housing crisis is fucking with everyone…. Even the King Of Pop. Mike’s problems are a little bit bigger than a bad sub prime loan, but his spot Neverland has been foreclosed on! Mike has an outstanding balance of a little more than $24.5m and if its not paid by March 19th his pad, Neverland Ranch, is going to be sold to the highest bidder on the courthouse steps. Dag, that’s serious. We need some kind of investigative reporter to get to the bottom of this whole Mike Jackson thing. And not some bootleg journalist who is trying to become popular by taking advantage of Mike, but someone who spends about 3 years researching all things Micheal Jackson and figures out what the hell is going on with him. I want some Enron level investigation into my guy. It seems like he is just gotten to the point where he is the inept CEO of a major corporation only he cant be fired. This man has sold a ton of records, literally, 500m+ at last count, and he is forever in financial peril. Is he of the mindset of “fuggit, I want my last check to bounce?” Does he not just give a fug, or is he simply overwhelmed and helpless now to all of the people taking advantage of him. It is just a sad sad story.

Kelly, Bone Crusher & Pitbull. I haven’t found it online yet, but I can’t wait to hear that joint! Who dropped the best verse? I will say Bus or Luda with Big Boi coming in close behind. If I hear one more person talk about how hott Lil Weeziana is I might lose my mind. He’s aight. The more I think about it, 50 might be right, how hard is it to just be hott on one verse in someone else’s hit song? More Jay Z news

As being rumored damn near everywhere, Jay Z might be starting a record label with Apple. Now, I am a huge J fan, and this is the reason why. There have been rumors about this for more than a year now, starting with speculation a while back about him and Beyonce being fed up with the deals and labels that they are on. It is obvious to all that the “record industry” needs some help. The music business is doing fine, but the obviously record sales continue to decline. Most artist are just putting out albums almost as advertisement so that they can go on tour and make a ton of money off that. Apple has made and absolute mint off of iPods and the iTunes store, and there is a history of beef there between the record labels and Steve Jobs. These rumors definitely have been fueled by the fact that Jay left his post as the president of Def Jam after his contract didn’t get renewed to the terms he wanted, but this just seems to make too much sense. The only hiccup I can see is that Jay still owes DJ one more record under his recording contract, but given that he put out American gangster in about a month, seems like that isn’t going to be a problem. I for one would applaud a move like this, because everyone loves music, and we need a change in how things are getting done.

The craziest thing about all of this is that the NY Post is saying that the reason Jay left DJ is because he is wanting to focus on his business ventures exclusively, which includes the planned J Hotels and potentially five more 40/40 clubs. Right now he has the Midas touch, so whatever he is doing is looking like it will turn out just fine. Good for him!

A Moment of Silence

I don’t know if I hate this guy or I look up to him. I mean with K Federline at least Britney was someone that I don’ think I would fucks with. But JA, umm, yeah… Anyways, word around the campfire is that he not only has her pregnant now, but they are officially engaged. I contemplated jumping out of my fifth floor window, but I think I will just have a moment of silence here at my cube. Maybe light a candle or something. Christian Bale Is My New Hero

Variety is reporting that Christian Bale is in final talks to revive another movie franchise that has seen better days, Terminator. Lets just say that I am excited, because this cat can really effing act.
